Correction or Removal Request
American News Network and American News and Information Services seek to provide accurate, fair, and responsible news coverage of authorized public probate court proceedings.
Requests for correction, clarification, redaction, access restriction, or removal may be submitted for review.
When to Submit a Request
You may submit a request if you believe that published probate court coverage:
Contains a factual error
Misidentifies a person, party, witness, attorney, fiduciary, or court matter
Includes sealed, confidential, restricted, or protected information
Conflicts with a court order or later court action
Creates a substantial privacy or safety concern
Requires clarification or additional context
Should be reviewed because of changed circumstances
Information to Include
Please include:
Your name
Your contact information
The title or link to the page or video at issue
The probate court involved
The date of the hearing or publication
A clear explanation of the requested correction, clarification, redaction, restriction, or removal
Any supporting documentation, court order, docket entry, or public record that supports the request
Review Process
ANIS will review submitted requests and may take one or more of the following actions:
Correct an error
Add clarification or context
Restrict public or subscriber access
Redact limited information
Delay or remove publication
Decline the request
Take other action consistent with court authorization, applicable law, privacy concerns, safety concerns, and editorial judgment
No Automatic Removal
Submitting a request does not guarantee removal, redaction, or restriction of published material. ANIS considers each request based on the public interest, accuracy, court authorization, legal restrictions, privacy concerns, safety concerns, and editorial judgment.
Court Orders
If a court has issued an order affecting publication, access, sealing, confidentiality, or distribution of any material, please provide a copy of the order or docket reference.
